Description: To provide merchandising support to our sales representatives in the chain and NHSLC stores.

The territory covers the seacoast area of New Hampshire. 

Essential Job Functions: Upon the general direction of the General Sales Manager and the direct supervision of the Retail Sales Manager and within established policies and procedures, the incumbent performs the following functions:

  • Assist sales reps in building and filling displays and restocking the shelf
  • “Throw Loads” filling the shelves when truck has arrived with weekly order in designated grocery stores
  • Install POS on displays and at point of purchase in retail stores
  • Assist with annual grocery or NHSLC resets
  • Conduct tastings in NHLSC or grocery stores as directed

Secondary Functions:

  • Attends company functions, meetings, educational workshops and seminars to enhance own development
  • Exercises care in the use and operation of equipment and reference materials
  • Performs similar or related duties as requested or directed
  • Works to maintain corporate and competitive confidentiality
Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and respond appropriately to unexpected situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish a cooperative, collaborative working environment
  • Ability to maintain good communications; ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with office staff and the sales force
  • Ability to accept constructive feedback and initiate appropriate actions to correct situations
  • Involves the exercise of judgment in the analysis of facts and conditions regarding individual problems or transactions to determine what actions should be taken within the limits of standard practice
  • Ability to receive training and guidelines from supervisor on non-routine duties which may not follow standard practices and procedures. Ability to determine actions to be taken, handling all but unusual cases
  • Ability to transport self to and from off-site locations
  • Physical requirements include ability to bend body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist; extend hand (s) and arm (s) in any direction; stand for sustained periods of time; move about on foot to accomplish tasks, use upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion; raise objects from a lower to a higher position or move objects horizontally from position to position; pick, pinch, grasp and apply pressure to an object with the fingers and palm; perceive attributes of objects, such as size, shape, tone, temperature, or texture by touching with skin, particularly that of the fingertips

Education/Training/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-3 years business experience
  • Excel, Word & other proprietary

Physical Demands and Environment:

  • Occasional physical exertion including the regular lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds and the occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 40 pounds
  • Work requires frequent standing or walking throughout the work day
  • Work requires considerable mental concentration to effectively execute complex tasks requiring periods of focused mental and visual concentration
  • Work requires travel and exposure to weather conditions while visiting customers, prospects or vendors
  • Potential for accidents due to over the road travel including traffic accidents, delivery of goods
