STEEL CHEF COMPETITION – MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2024
The New Hampshire Food Bank’s 8th Annual Steel Chef Challenge, presented by Service Credit Union, will feature celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelsson, hosting an exciting cooking competition featuring four of NH’s best professional chefs! Join us on April 8, 2024 for an exciting evening in support of the NH Food Bank and its programming!
The Food Bank will transform the Armory Ballroom at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown in downtown Manchester into a grand dining room, seating approximately 680 guests. Attendees will watch live as the competition between chefs heats up, enjoy a fabulous dinner curated by Chef Samuelsson and have the opportunity to take part in both live and silent auctions!
Attendees with VIP tickets can attend the VIP portion of the event which will take place before the competition (VIP entry begins at 5pm). VIPs can meet and greet the celebrity chef, get autographs and enjoy passed appetizers, complimentary beer, wine and a signature cocktail as well as sample menu offerings from past winners and nominees!
This will be an exciting evening to support a worthy cause!

Local NH chefs apply to win a spot in the Steel Chef Challenge hosted by acclaimed chef, Marcus Samuelsson. Four chefs will be selected from their applications by a committee organized in conjunction with the NH Food Bank. Don’t miss your chance to compete!

Watch chefs with savoir-faire! Ingredients for the competition will be chosen by the event coordinators, while chefs will bring their gastronomic creativity, dazzling personalities and their ability to work under pressure to this charitable competition!
HOSTED BY CELEBRITY CHEF MARCUS SAMUELSSON
Marcus Samuelsson is the renowned chef behind many restaurants worldwide including Red Rooster in Harlem (NYC) and Overtown (Miami); Hav & Mar in Chelsea (NYC); several MARCUS locations including Montreal, the Bahamas, Newark, and Atlanta; and his newest concept, Metropolis at the Perelman Performing Arts Center (World Trade Center, NYC), which opened November 2023. Samuelsson was the youngest person to ever receive a three-star review from The New York Times. He was tasked with planning and executing the Obama Administration’s first State dinner honoring Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He has won eight James Beard Foundation awards as chef, author and TV personality, most recently for his work as head judge on Top Chef.
He currently serves as Executive Chef-in-Residence of Buzzfeed Tasty’s talent program. A committed philanthropist, Samuelsson is co-chair of Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) which focuses on underserved youth.
