GOING VIRAL MERLOT

Inspired by the groundbreaking work of virologist Dr. Rebecca Phillips-DuBois, daughter of Michael Phillips and goddaughter of David Phillips, Going Viral has taken on a whole new meaning amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. This label celebrates her lifesaving discoveries at UC Santa Cruz in her protein engineering lab. Capturing the atomic view of the fight between humans and viruses, Going Viral embodies Dr. Phillips-DuBois’s passion in developing new vaccines and antiviral therapies to cure childhood infections.

An assistant professor of biomolecular engineering at UC Santa Cruz, Dr. Phillips-DuBois is currently working with her team to develop diagnostic testing and a potential vaccine for COVID-19.

TASTING NOTES
Sourced from Phillips family vineyards, this 2018 Merlot opens with aromas of huckleberry and Bing cherry with a hint of cocoa and caramel on the nose. Flavors of blackberry jam, dried cranberry and toasted baguette carry this medium-bodied wine to a fruitful and lasting finish.
